One of the most exciting aspects of Dave Campbell’s job is working with students. Not only does he get to teach science to students, but he is able to work alongside young researchers who are just starting out sharing new ideas.
Dave, an associate professor at Waikato University, also explains that, as a scientist, you often find out things you weren’t expecting, and trying to make sense of new and often unknown findings is an exciting and interesting part of his work.

DR DAVE CAMPBELL
Probably the thing that excites me most about my work, is working with students and teaching, and working with young scientists who are learning how to go about and do science. And I find that very exciting. But aside from the educational aspects of it, it’s just finding out new things, and wherever you go and wherever you work, you are going to find out something that is unexpected, and often it’s that unanticipated result which I find the most exciting.
