Students use a three-level reading guide strategy to locate, interpret and apply the information to consider the role of research in finding easy care sheep traits.
Purpose
Students engage with ideas about the importance of observation, both qualitative and quantitative, in science. They make links to ways scientists use observation and research to develop their understanding about phenomena and to guide their ongoing investigations.
From this activity, students could develop their own investigations into the frequency of easy care sheep traits and how this contributes to farming and food production in New Zealand.
