In this activity, students use activity cards to match seeds with the fruits from which they grow. They learn that a seed will produce the same type of plant and seeds.
By the end of this activity, students should be able to:
- match a few seeds to the fruits from which they grow
- begin to explain that plants growing from a seed will produce the same type of flower, fruit and seeds
- begin to group seeds according to common characteristics (optional).

I used the Matching Seeds and Fruits activity with my year 3/4 class when looking at how plants grow from seeds. They were given free rein to work out what went together and then we talked about it afterwards. Some were really easy for them but some were a bit trickier!
